New black speck on light brown mole

Hi, I have had a raised light brown mole above my left eye my entire life. Recently I noticed there is a speck of black color on the edge of this mole that was never there before. The mole has never changed size, has smooth edges, is symmetrical, does not hurt,itch or bleed and until recently has always been the same color. It has been worrying me and I would like to know whether or not I need to have this mole evaluated by a dermatologist.

From the symptoms it looks like normal nevus or mole. However keep an eye on it. Melanoma has an irregular border, is asymmetrical, uneven color and increasing in size. If you notice changes in the mole's/mark’s color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful. Otherwise it should be left as such.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
