Non-Elastic and Shiny Skin

Non-Elastic and Shiny Skin

Hello,

I have had for months now, a part of my scrottum (the junction between my penis and the sack) that has developped a weird issue. The skin has turned non-elastic and shiny. By non elastic, I mean that when I pull the skin it takes a while before it goes back in its natural form compared to the usual bounce back in to position. And it's also shiny, it's like it was waxed, its really noticeable.. That skin part looks like its a bit damaged because it looks old and wrinkly and it really bothers me, I am worried it might never go away or it gets worst.

I had been told it might be eczema.. I tried putting moisturizing creams and a low cortisone cream (0.5%) on the area for days and it didnt change anything. It hasnt fixed anything... Like I said I have had this for months.

Any help, or suggestion on what this might be would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,
Such a skin patch can be due to dermatitis skin or fungal infection. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments.

If the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
