Non-itching pink pubic warts?

by swissarmy, Aug 28, 2005 12:00AM
For at least 4 months, I have had 3 wart-looking occurrences in the pubic region (about 1/2 inch to 1inch above the base of the penis).  They don't itch or burn or appear to really be changing in size.  I have had some ingrown hairs and pimples in this area and on my penis before, but they would change over time and eventually heal.  My only other run-in with warts was planter warts on my feet many years ago.

These seem to be stagnant.  I did not find any other "warts" in some time, though I just recently noticed a very small wart or pimple on my upper thigh and another near the tip of my penis, but these just occurred and could easily be pimples/ingrown hairs.  The ones I'm concerned about are pink, raised, but flat.  They don't seem to have a center or core.  Two of them are small, and one is medium sized.  They are very circular (not as wild looking as many pics I've seen of genital warts).  However, they don't seem to be going away.  Is this an STD?  Genital Warts? A simple skin condition? Any idea as to what they are and what I can do to treat them?  Thanks!

Sorry, but I can't answer you without seeing them.  These bumps are probably not warts, though.  Their location and your description sound more like folliculitis (blocked pores) or molluscum (a non-HPV wart.)  I suggest that you leave them alone and show them to a doctor.  Otherwise, they'll just be there for an extended period and you'll go on worrying....

Best.

I have something like that.  In my case began like a rash between legs very close to the penis. Like 8 months ago the rash gone but I have now a marks like a dark shade in the affected area.
