Non-specific urethritis and burning glans(glands)

I'm 42 year old straight male. I have had NSU to varying degrees  starting from a chlamydia infection about 10 years ago. I've been tested for all STD's and reassured various times that everything's fine. All tests have come back negative. I have been to infectious disease specialist and urologist & come up empty handed. (Last time I purused this was 9-10 yrs ago).

I have tried tetracycline which calmed it down for about 5 days of the treatment but it came back while I was still taking it. As well, I tried metronidazol, but it gave me severe cramps & I had to stop treatment about 3 days into it. I had it considerably calmed by several treatments of Ciprofloxin taken for unrelated issues. As well, at times I have found that sex with my g/f may calm it down.

Recently I thought I had chlamydia & was treated with 2 tablets Arythromycin. As it turns out I did not have chlamydia or any other STD. At the end of the 7 day period, I had no NSU whatsoever. Furthermore, during that period, I had no sexual activity whatsoever (neither with partner nor solo). I was, needless to say, delighted that the tests came back as they did! My g/f (who was also tested & all results negative-I was in the Dr.'s office when the Dr. gave her results back) and I then had unprotected sex.  The next day, I noticed a very slight peeling of the skin on my glans (glands). That day & the next my glans (glands) & foreskin were burning. When I masturbated, the ejaculate was watery & caused some burning on the glans (glands) & foreskin. (If I recall correctly, this has occured once before, but I'm not sure when). As well, the NSU came back with considerably greater strength than before. After a few days it has calmed down to near normal, but I think that if I have sex it's going to flare up again.

There is no discharge, or redness, ir bumps, or swelling etc.

When I have changed g/f's over the years, they often get a bit of an infection, but it never amounts to anything. When this has happened, (in addition to making me feeling guilty as hell for nothing apparently) they've always seen the Dr., been tested and had negative results.

I'm not a person who sleeps around.

What is happening? Is it possible that I have some minor bacteria that does not seem to get picked up in tests? What tests should I consider? What medications may be of assistance? What type of specialist should I see who could help me with this? How common/ rare is my experience (complete clear up of NSU with some antibiotic but having it come back and the very slight peeling/ subsequent burning)?

Why do you think that slight peeling and burning is a repeat of chlamydia?  I think you have penile skin irritation plus anxiety, that's all.  Sex will aggravate irritation, of course, from friction.  You should get an opinion from a dermatologist who examines the rash when it's there, then just forget about it and move on.  Also, avoid unsafe sex so you'll have less to worry about.

Best.
