Health Clinic and I was given Hydrocortisone cream to apply on the glans (glands). The spots went away after a couple of weeks but reappeared. I tried the cream again but noticed thinning of the glans (glands).I have researched internet and haven't seen a single image which resembles to my condition.I once had chlymedia and tested a few months after I took medicine ,it turned out negative.
The patch on the tonge has not enlarged neither do the spots itch. Kindly let me know what I can use instead of Hydrocotisone 1%. Will be looking forward to your reply.
Hello,
One possibility for your symptoms is lichen planus. Lichen planus is an inflammatory disease that affects the skin and the oral mucosa, and presents itself in the form of papules(flat spots) or rashes. It is an itchy papular eruption characterized by its violaceous color
Treatment is available only on prescription and consists mainly of steroids, retinoids, hydroquinone and phototherapy. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Hey,
Thanks for replying to my post. I have checked internet and it does not seem like Lichen planus, the pictures that I saw are quite severe and I had it for more than a year , should have got worse by now. I have used Hydrocortisone 1% that seem to do the trick down but they spots reappear and the use of this cream thins the skin.I have shown it to over 5 docs and they say its nothing to worry about. The patch on tonge has been described as geographical tongue.Went to GUM clinic and they gave me the cream. The rashes do not itch at all , and nothing comes out of them,The skin seems dry.
