Obaji???

by fljulie, Jan 22, 2002 12:00AM
I was advised to use Obaji skin care for my acne.  I get large, cystic acne on my face but it is a moderate problem.  Otherwise, my face is oily/combination.  The Obaji line will cost me $225 and I was told I would not see any results for up to 6 weeks, since my skin will worsen first.  I was wondering what you know about this Skin care line and if you would suggest using it.  And, if not, what other suggestions would you make?  I also have a moderate problem with back acne that just recently reappeared again.
Thanks

The Obagi Nu-Derm system was devised by Dr. Zein Obagi.  Centered on Retin-A, this program does an excellent job of minimizing the blotchy poigmentation which comes with age and sun damage.  It also helps fine wrinkles to some extent.

Although Retin-A is an acne medication as well, the Obagi system is not primarily an acne treatment.  I think you should look into standard medical therapy with topical and oral antibiotics.  This is especially true for acne of the back.

At most, the Obagi system should be an adjunct to your medical anti-acne regimen.

Ask your dermatologist about this, or consult one of you haven't.

Best.
