Odd rash on chest

I had a rash of sorts on my chest. It was slightly reddish (sometimes more than others), but always off-color. It was rarely itchy, but a few times, particularly when I took showers, I would notice a bit of itchiness. My general physician gave me triamcinolone acetonide cream, which I have used faithfully for two weeks now. My original rash is much less noticable now but still visable (I have noticed no itchiness at all since using the cream). However, now my chest has developed a bunch of small, highly visable red dots spread out way past where my first rash was. Also, whever I touch my chest with even slight presure, it turns bright red a few seconds later and lasts a few minutes.

Are these side effects of the cream or have I developed a new problem?

Pityriasis rosea is the condition described and the first patch was probably the herald patch.Should resolve in a couple of weeks spontaneously.Do consult your doc.
