Hello,
When I was a teenager I started wasching my hair everyday. Now i'm 30 and I'd like to do it at least every second day but it seems impossible since on the second day my hair looks as if it hasn't been wasched for 2 weeks or more. It's so oily. I know the reason is that my hair got used to being wasched everyday, but is there any way to change it? I tried all different shampoo for oily hair, stopped using a conditioner but to be honest- none of these made any difference. Is there any medical help for that? Thank you
Hi,
How are you feeling?
I think you should reconsider washing your hair everyday, as this would wash of oil from your scalp.
If things are not getting better you should be seeing a Dermatologist as there could be systemicSystemic lupus erythematosus Systemic lupus erythematosus rash on the face concern which is causing your current symptoms.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
Bye.
I have the same problem. My hair will not even hold dye at the scalp area and I've suffered hair loss. The only thing that seems to help (and believe me I've tried everything) is sebulex shampoo. Its really hard to find. I had to order it on the internet. I have to wah everyday with it and scrub my scalp, but my hair seems to be growing in and the oil is under controlControl Control rx for at least a day.
A "dry" shampoo is helpful for a quick fix to improve the oily appearance without washing, but it is certainly not a solution.
It works by spraying a very fine powder into the hair which absorps the oil. I find that it only encourages my scalp to produce more oil later, but I have long hair which takes time to wash and dry, so it can be useful in a pinch..

The more I strip out oil from my scalp, the more I produce, so maybe the answer is to go away somewhere where noone knows me for two months and not use any shampoo at all. Another radical attempt at a cure, more palatable for boys..: shave all your hair off, and use the time whilst it's just beginning to grow back to slather on petroleum jelly daily - to retrain your scalp. Then NEVER use shampoo again!
