My name is Jason. I’m a 29 year old male, 5’9” & 189lbs. I’ve been having issues with my skin for the past 6-9 months or so…. Unfortunately, it is very hard to describe my problem, because it’s not very consistent. But, I will try my best to explain.
to stop by using Cortizone 10, but the rash never completely went away. I kept using a bunch of over the counter stuff on it like Gold bond and Benadryl lotion, but nothing would get rid of it. To make matters worse I started noticing little wart like bumps popping up in different places. Some on my love handles, some on my wrist
and some on my legs. They too are extremely itchy and when I scratched them they will scab up and more will pop up next to the original. Not to mention the inside of my ears
became very itchy. So much that I will scratch until the inside of my ears are rubbed raw and then scab over, but no bumps are in my ears. I had my girlfriend look for me.
I finally broke down and went to my doctor. I have no insurance, so I had to pay out of pocket. At first I thought I might have scabies, because they are on my hands and wrists, but my doctor said they weren’t scabies, because you would see the marks from where they travel under your skin. He checked inside my ears and said he couldn’t see anything that would make my ears itch, but when he looked at my pelvic region he said it looked like foliculitus. He prescribed me a pill and a cream to apply on all the irritated ereas. Doxycycline and Clobetasol. I finished the pills and used the cream as much as directed, but this problem never went away. I feel like the meds helped a little but didn’t completely cure the problem.
Lately whenever a new bump pops up I put the cream on it a couple times and it eventually subsides, but doesn’t go away completely. I’m really starting to get concerned, because it seems like it is shape-shifting into a worse form every time. Sometimes these wart like bumps with a dark center will stand alone and other times there will be several of them looking like they are about to form.
Now the newest problem is whenever I scratch or cut myself the wound becomes very itchy! I have a scratch on my shin from playing soccer, so I cleaned it with peroxide and left it alone. It’s not a very big scratch, so I didn’t put a bandage or anything on it. Well, a couple weeks later it hasn’t healed (probably because I scratch it so much) and now there is a rash that has formed around it. I’ve been using the Clobetasol on it for a few days since the rash occurred, but the itching won’t stop and it doesn’t look like it’s getting any better.
Can you please suggest any over the counter medication? I would prefer not to go back to my doctor, because without insurance the visit plus prescriptions gets expensive. If you say I have to go see him I will, but I would like to avoid it if possible.
Sorry this is so long and thank you for your time.
