Hello!
In the last few years I worked very hard to lose over 100 pounds. Yes, it's great but it left me with an "apron" of loose skin over my abdominal area. I've always been very careful about keeping the area clean.
I developed a very itchy and painful
rash that my physician diagnosed as a yeast infection. For the last several months I have been on Nystatin and Triamcinolone Cream, keep the area clean, and wear cotton underwear.
This rash has not cleared up. It's still red, hair follicles
show pustules, and the whole area has a burning sensation.
The stretch marks near it are inflamed and tender.
What other treatments could be used to clear this up? My physician will not do a scraping nor change the cream.
I'm a wee bit desperate to be honest.
Last year, an endoscopy revealed I had a yeast infection in my esophagus
with pustules can be due to folliculitis skin. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. Also please consult a dermatologist as you may need oral antibiotics.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
