Open Wound Not Healing

by Adit, May 19, 2003 12:00AM
Hi Doctor,

I have a small, not very deep cut on my face where the skin has not grown back. This happened at the end of March. I have been applying neospora every day at night, but the cut still remains open. I also feel heat being given off from this area. Is there anything that can be done to help the skin grown back?

Thanks,
Adit

It's hard to picture that your skin has actually not grown bak.  Perhaps you mean it's still red, which is to be expected, since redness from a cut can last for several months.  Neosporin may help, as would Vitamin E cream (any brand.)  If you have doubts, please see a skin doctor.  But I am confident you'll find the skin is healing better than you imagine.

Take care.
