Overuse of Clobetsol

by chris, Aug 16, 2000 12:00AM
Noticing large amounts of hair falling out of scalp. I just heard of this folliculitis thing about 10 min. ago for the first time. Is it possible that overuse of Clobetasol has caused this? I go through a 4 oz. bottle every 5-6 months for severe scoriasis of the scalp.  -chris

Chris:

Clobetasol is a strong steroid, which works great on seborrhea and psoriasis, but it doesn't to my knowledge cause hair loss.  (Neither does folliculitis.)  I suggest you show a dermatologist your problem, because neither the medication nor the conditions for which it's used seem like obvious explanations for what you say is your problem.

Best.
