PLEASE HELP!!

Burning and itching

I had protected sex with a girl last couple of last week. About  3 or 4 days later I started experiencing burning, tingling and itching in the in my scrotum only left side, now is also in the right side. The itching and the burning sensations are also at the same time. It seemed to go away but has just recently appeared. I did not see any blister (How big are the herpes Blister). After the burning my scrotum skin looks plastic.  My concern is that I shave my parts and the girl  was very lubricate and I don’t know if her fluids on my scrotum skin give me herpes or something. I don’t have any pain on my penis at all.   Can someone tell me what is it?,

How long have you been shaving down there? You may be shaving too close and if you use a lotion or cream that has any perfume in it or alcohol it could make you sensitive.  Use a mild soap there and after you shave you should use a lotion but get Neutrogena sensitive skin(no alcohol or perfumes) Use oatmeal based bath wash made by Aveeno for sensitive skin to calm. Hope this helped in the meantime.

Hey Doc, Can I do " This protein is glycoprotein G and the tests are the glycoprotein G specific or "gG-based" tests." Now or I will have to wait couples of months, and what is the test name in order to request the test to my doctor.

Hello,
How many outbreaks you will have of HSV 1 depends on many factors like your immune system, your age and since how long you have had the virus. Over time, recurrences of both HSV- 1 and 2 tend to decrease.
You can transmit HSV 1 to your partner through unprotected intercourse(without condom), oral sex and even by kissing and exchange of saliva. Spread is most contagious during active outbreaks, but are often spread through viral shedding when there are no recognizable symptoms.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

I will have to waited 3 or 4 moths for be able to do this test also(the new tests detect antibodies to a protein that differs between HSV-1 and HSV-2. This protein is glycoprotein G and the tests are the glycoprotein G specific or "gG-based" tests. Another test is the Western blot test which also is highly accurate.)

Hi Doctor, results negative, positive to HSV1 (cold sore in my lips) and negative on the HSV2.  I know that I have to wait 3 to 4 moths to do another retest. My question is how often the herpes will appear again if I have it.  On the maintime Im trying to keep my mind relax is not easy.  Another question I dont want to contaminate my new partner, beside condom what else I need to do to prevent just in case I have something.

THANKS

Hello,
Most of the tests done for HSV1 and 2 show false results and retesting after 6 months is usually required. The new tests detect antibodies to a protein that differs between HSV-1 and HSV-2. This protein is glycoprotein G and the tests are the glycoprotein G specific or "gG-based" tests. Another test is the Western blot test which also is highly accurate.

Please discuss these options also with your dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and God bless.

Ok, he told me that the test would tell me if I have HSV1 or HSV 2 or any, that means that if I have a negative, that I have to wait 4 month to do another test.

Hello,
The blood tests have been done to rule out herpes. Laboratory tests include: culture of the virus, direct fluorescent antibody (DFA) studies to detect virus, skin biopsy, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to test for presence of viral DNA.

One thing more that I would like to add is most blood tests are that for antibodies called IgM which are short term antibodies that a person can show during or around the outbreak of herpes. Then these IgM antibodies disappear. Then they are replaced by long term antibodies, or IgG. These antibodies take longer to develop and stay for good. Thus, if a person takes a test before the 12 to 16 weeks, and they aren't in the middle of an outbreak, they could read negative for IgM (short term) and IgG (long term) and still be positive, thus the only true way to know is after four months.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

I went to the doctor (General clinic) and he told me that that he believed that was a bacterial infection. He said that I had some symptoms fo herpes such as burning, and iching, but I did not have blister.  I requested a Herpes test, he told me that he would do the one that search for both Herpes 1 and herpes 2.

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis, fungal infections, sweat dermatitis or dermatitis.

Rash in herpes presents as itchy painful blisters which scab over. I feel that a clinical examination by a dermatologist will be the best. Till that time, pls apply some calamine lotion on the rashes and avoid scratching them. You can also take some over the counter antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. They will help in controlling itching.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
