PPP or warts

Hi,

About 3 years ago i was diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum when i had a few warts on the shaft of my penis. Since then i have had no recurrences that i could tell.

Im in a new relationship now and have been for the past 6 months. Ive been really concerned about HPV and passing it along to my partner. Ive been to the doctor 3 times with concern of warts and each time he sees nothing that is abnormal.

My question is, where the shaft of my penis meets the head, in that cravise/wedge i have these little skin colored bumps that kinda look like glands. Im pretty sure ive had these for a while, but lately ive been checking my penis very closely and scrutinizing every bump. These particular bumps vary in size and shape, although none are bigger then a pin head. They circle all around my penis in this wedge except at the very top and are aligned fairly uniformly. On the left side however, they look a little larger, more dense and a little less aligned, but tappers off towards my urethra opening (tappers off on the right side as well, but bumps are not so dense). When i stretch the skin between the head and the shaft, the bumps become elongated, turn kinda peachy in color and seem to "bridge" the head to the shaft. It sometimes becomes kinda sensitive when i walk, but i wonder if thats just because ive been picking around the area. These bumps are located only in the cravise/wedge where my penis head meets my shaft and nowhere else and i dont believe they have gotten any bigger.

Im i being paranoid? Could these bumps be simply PPP or normal glands? Or are they genital warts?

Like i said before, ive been to the doctor alot lately and its starting to get costly. I would like to avoid another trip. But I am going a therapist tomorrow for my anxiety.

Thanks so much,

-Chuck

thanks for getting back to me. I actually went to the doctor to get them checked out and she took a quick look and said they were definitely not warts. She says she has seen a lot of warts and that i have nothing to worry about.

The thing is, im not sure these are PPP. They arent hard but soft, and can be pressed flat. They are located on the sulcus of my penis (the wedge where the penis head meets the shaft) and are much more prevalent on the left side then the right. They also seem to be more rows on my coronal ridge when i stretch the skin apart ( like a dry cracked dessert)

Im trusting her advise... i guess im just a little self-conscious.

Is there any natural remedies to get ride of these?

Chuck, welcome to the Dermatology Expert Forum!

You are not being paranoid, just a bit overly focused on the state of your penile skin.
We are sure you will find more productive and calming focuses in your life, as soon as you open yourself to the fact that, most likely, there is nothing wrong with your penile skin. The only reason we are saying ‘most likely’ is because we are making conclusions just based on what you wrote to us (without having all medical history information and without performing physical examination).

Pearly penile papule (PPP) are flesh-colored, smooth, rounded papules (1-3mm in diameter). They can be found in up to 48% of men and are considered a normal variant. PPP are usually located around the coronal margin of the glans and can form rows or rings of papules. They can be mistaken for genital warts, especially ectopic lesions.

Basically, you do not have reason to worry. You were already reassured about your health by physicians. However, if you are very bothered with PPP, cryotherapy and laser treatments are possible therapeutic options.

Wishing You Optimal Health,
