Painful anal scar

Hello,
A year and a half ago I had an anal fissure surgery. The wound took 9 months to close. Now I have a scar which unfortunately is very painful. I am a gay man so my sexual life feels very incomplete, I am very depressed.

- Do the collagen creams actually work?
- What kind of massage should I practice? Really, I haven't found any massage technic online. I do give massage but I end up with more pain so I don't know if I am doing it right.
- What are my options?

The scar is not big, it feels deep and it there is a bit of extra tissue.

This is very difficult so please please give me some advice. I will do anything to get better.
Thank you

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This can be due to hypertrophic scar or due to adhesion formations after anal fissure surgery. Hypertrophic scars are red bump like scars but do not grow beyond the boundaries of the original wound and they often improve in appearance after a few years.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
