Painful bumps on fingers and hands

Ok for several years now, off and on, I've been having these patches of painful small red bumps that appear on my fingers and hands.  They "seem" to appear around my period, and are hard, not filled, and when they disappear the leave the skin peeling sometimes.  They hurt when you press on them, they seem worse sometimes more then other times.  My family doctor has no idea.  They hurt and look unsightly, I wish I knew what causes them and how to get them go away, for good!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
For such blisters appearing on the fingers, the first possibility that comes to my mind is of contact dermatitis. The other possibility with such presenting features is pompholyx or dyshidrotic eczema. Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Wash the area with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat it dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area and see if this improves. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort.

If the symptoms persist then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist. Myxoid cyst and herpetic whitlow(chances are less) have to be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I have added more photos on my profile.  It's hard to see them because they are mostly "just" under the skin.  PLEASE help!
