Painless blister-like rash on face

Yesterday morning when I was washing my face I noticed that its texture felt very bumpy, rather like an orange peel. On inspection there is some sort of rash completely covering my face, the underside of my chin and the front of my neck. There appear to be very small blister-like bumps everywhere, making my skin not feel smooth like it usually does, but these are not blisters in the traditional sense of being fluid filled. It is absolutely painless and not at all red. The skin does not seem to be dry. Any idea what this could be?

This sounds inflammatory--eczema or perhaps allergy to something that touched your face. If you haven't used anything new and different, the second possibility is a lot less likely.
I would apply a cool water compress 10 minutes per day and then apply 1% hydrocortisone (OTC). At the same time, make an appointment to see a skin doctor is a few weeks. If the rash has gone by then, you may not have to see the doctor.
