Peeling/Flaking Skin

recently about a year now, the skin around my nose started to peel and cause flakes of skin.. when I feel my nose area it's rough and easy to just scratch off the dry skin flakes off my skin leaving a red spot most of the time when it's removed.

I have had dandruff for all my life now and it feels the same way, it gets itchy and I have to scratch and it just peels off and I get flakes of skin, I use Nizoral for my dandruff, obviously I have to keep using it once every few weeks or my dandruff will just keep coming back which is rather annoying...

So I tried nizoral(just to test) on my nose.. it works to remove the problem, but it's exactly like my dandruff, it just keeps coming back.. would anyone be able to help me find out exactly why this is happening? or offer some advice?
