Penile Yeast Infection won't go away?

Penile Yeast Infection won't go away?

I am 23 years old and uncircumcised.  About 5 weeks ago, I noticed a sort of rash on my penis including the head and shaft.  It did not itch, but I noticed small red bumps.  After showering, the rash was gone by the morning.  Then about a week later, I washed my penis vigorously with soap (coast).  Within the next few days, my penis became irritated and developed a small red "rash" around the tip of the penis.  This turned into irritation.  It kind of itched and burned a little after I urinated, but not during urination.  I went to the doctor after about a week of no serious relief and he said I had a yeast infection and to use Monistat.  I used the cream for about 7 days and I didn't have total relief so he prescribed me Diflucan.  I felt total relief for about 3 days then it came back slightly and the redness around the tip never totally went away.  I began using the Monistat again for about a week and the symptoms have pretty much all gone except for the redness.  Then, last night, I masturbated and the slight burning sensation came back again after I finished and lasted about an hour.  My last sexual experience was about 9 months ago and I used protection, so I am unsure if it can be an STD.  I also havn't experienced any discharge of any kind and I don't have any kind of sores to speak of.  Is it normal for these infections to last for so long? Please help...

You don't have a yeast infection.  The treatments you used would have killed any yeasts you did have many times over.  Besides, yeasts involve the full shaft, scrotum, or thighs, and are quite uncommon in men.

What you describe sounds like plain old irritation (sensitive skin, masturbation, etc.)

My advice is to avoid friction apply over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone twice daily, moisturize each time with any lotion, and see a skin doctor in 2-3 weeks.  You should be fine.

Best.

My boyfriend has developed a rash on the head of his penis.  I was shocked to see about 50 very small (smaller than the head of a pin)flesh colored growths on him.  He says there is no itching or noticable irritation but it is very worrisome.

In the past week, we have had intercourse while I was self medicating myself for a yeast infection.  I had one 2 months ago and was prescribed Diflucan.  This time, I avoided it because I may be pregnant and used a homeopathic suppository treatment for 5 days which helped along with some Clotrimazole 1% cream. (the week before the yeast infection, I took 500mg Amoxicillin 3 x daily for 8 days for sinusitis (felt like strep throat))

I may currently have bronchitis. Is there a chance that bacteria/virus could be spread through saliva as we are sexually active?  What is the best course of action?
