Penile irritation

Date of birth: 02/02/34. Married for 15 years [no extramarital relations] State of health generally:  Excellent including cholesterol and blood pressure [mild heart attack 2003]; no prostate problems; low fat diet; non-smoker
Weight: 57 kgs; Height: 1.69 metres
Cardiac Drugs: Tritace 5 mg [Ramipril]; Lipostat 40 mg [Pravastatin] ; Nu-Seals 75 mg [Aspirin - acetylsalicylic acid]
Other Drugs:Timoptic 0.25% (Timolol Maleate) (for  mild glaucoma); Actonel 35mg [Risedronate sodium]
Condition description: Irritated glans and foreskin. For over four years I have had this condition with varying degrees of severity.  The symptoms include: a slight overall feeling of discomfort or rarely mild pain, around the foreskin and glans; the glans is always slightly irritated, and at its worst unpleasantly sensitive to the touch, the glans frequently develops several blotchy patches of red at different locations; the surface is uneven and the pores seem to weep a shiny, slightly sticky substance; the blood vessels on the inside of the foreskin also develop red blotches , and at times the redness is visible on the outside of the foreskin; the symptoms vary in intensity and location from day to day and even from morning

I think you most likely have mild irritation of a sensitive part of the skin.  You certainly don't have a fungus or bacteria, and Clobetasone is much too strong a steroid to use in this area for any length of time.  I think you ought to cleanse gently and apply nothing more potent than a bland moisturizer.  It seems to me that you have already expended far too much time and energy on what is almost certainly a mild and unimportant irritation that is common and best ignored.  I advise another dermatologic opinion to corroborate this impression.

Best.

Lubrication is important during any sexual activity (alone or with a partner). Soap stings, and some lotions irritate, but KY, spit, and even butter may be options. I remember 14 and hope it is just chaffing. Don't be afraid to ask your own doctor if it persists. Good luck.

re: FARM

I also suffer from a similar ailment. I originally thought the irritation was fungal ('jock itch' that got under my foreskin). Antifungal creams had little effect. Additional symptoms include: inflamed foreskin swells slightly and can become very painful to roll back, extremely sensitive and painful base of penis head where foreskin attaches, tiny white almost blister-like spots on penis head (often with matching inflamed red spots on the underside of the foreskin) which can be easily rubbed off but leave behind red blotches giving the appearence of borderline open sores but never ooze or bleed.

Wondering if cause could be dietary. I eat a lot of sugar and not enough fruit and vegies though I am in good shape and athletic.

Difficult to shake and sexually frustrating (painful and fear of passing something on to partner).

Anyone else with some insight?
