Penile skin problem

I had some fore play with my wife, and I noticed afterwards that some skin had peeled off on the head of the penis half way down which caused some blood. This has never happened before.
Although the past 6 months, I noticed a couple of red marks which come and fade and come back, but not necessarily in the same place, but in the same area. I am married and we had not had sex for 12 months. Although I did masturbate. We were just getting back to re-kindling things, when the skin peeled off. The red marks were flat. I have noticed that since they faded, they have left little dimples. I am 47. Can you help?

Hi,

Lichen planus is mostly asymptomatic and in some cases may cause itching.

Does lichen planus cause itchiness, because I don't get any itchiness?

Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like dryness of skin and irritation of skin ut if the symptoms are severe then it is advisable to get it evaluated from a dermatologist and get the possibility of eczema or lichen planus ruled out.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Hello,
This looks like chafing and peeling of the skin due to dryness of skin. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
