Penis Fungus or physically damaged skin.

Hi, i unfortunetaly might have some fungus on the bottom half of my penis (the half away from the tip) or it might actually be physical damage done to the skin. I don't know for sure but the skin is red and doesn't look normal like the rest of the skin. It has some texture to it. Would Neosporin heal my penis and get it back to normal? If not does anyone know anything that could help without going to the doctor? Thanks!

Hello,
It is true that genital fungal infection presents with redness but they are also associated with itching. From the symptoms the possibility of any friction rub has to be ruled out. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Also wear cotton undergarments. Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist
