Penis Pain

by campbell, Apr 28, 2003 12:00AM
A few weeks ago I started to experience a minor constant pain on the tip of my penis. The pain has been present ever since though sometimes I dont feel it for a while and sometimes it feels very strong. However, when I urinate there is no increase in pain.

The tip of my penis is also rather redish (like a minor rash) sometimes and there is a very small bump the size of a pinhead close to the urethra. Sometimes this bump is nearly unnoticable and sometimes it looks more like a thin strand of raised flesh. At any rate, it seems like the texture of my skin in this area is not so "normal". The skin just at the opening of the urethra looks a little swollen, it's almost like two small lips.

After reading many of the posts on your sight I decided to try using some hydrochortozone 1%. I did it twice a day for about 4 or 5 days but there was no difference.

Any idea what this could be? Should I be concerned about it? Could id be an STD?

I don't know.  It's possible you have a urinary infection (bacterial, not sexual), though I doubt it.  My advice is to see a doctor for a urine culture and exam of the bump you describe.  Meantime, I'd stop the cortisone and leave the area alone.  It wouldn't surprise me if the symptoms went away while you were waiting for the appointment.

Take care.

Have you considered the possibility of a yeast infection.  You can search this forum for "yeast infection penis" to see it described and see if it fits.

I have almost the same exact symtoms. I'm willing to bet the doctor will not find an infection but he might prescribe some antibiotics because that's just doctors do. I've had the same symtoms for six months and nothing has helped I'm curious how your problem turns out.
