Penis Rash / Wrinkled irritated glans(glands)

Penis Rash / Wrinkled irritated glans(glands)

So i am a 20 yr old circumsized male. I have been sexually active with a few partners all very low risk and have only had unprotected sex with my current girlfriend. My problems started about a month and a half after seeing this girl, however I have tested clean for all STDs (not sure if herpes tested tho). While away from my girlfriend at school i developed what was diagnosed as a yeast rash on my inner thy and scrotum (not sure weather it was jock itch or candidia...) I was instructed to use clotimazole (lotrimin) on it for until a week after the rash cleard up, which ended up being a month of use. Around the end of the month after the main rash mostly cleared up, the glands of my penis began to appear red and wrinkled and slightly irritated. also a small red spot appeared on the shaft. I arranged another doctors appointment and he told me that he could see no visible signs of infection and to just use gold bond on it as it was most likely irrtation. I appied gold bond for two weeks, only to have the yeast rash return on the scrotum. I then used clotimazole again on it for two weeks, which is where i stand today. The rash is now gone, however the wrinkles and irritation on my glands have been constant since their appearence, and the smaller spot has grown larger and seems to have patched outward. These spots and wrinkles are mildly unccumfortable, yet do not itch or hurt at all, and have shown no differnces through clotrimazole treatment. I am wondering if they are related to the yeast rash, or possibly a loss of proper skin moisture/destruction of healthy skin due to such long clotrimazole exposure, or another type of infection. Also, my girlfriend has shown no signs of any infection throught this ordeal thankfully, so i believe the problem lies with my own skin... I am planning on seeing a dermatologist, but would appreciate as many opinions as possible on my situation as to take the best course of action and get an idea on what i am dealing with. Thanks!

Hello,
This patch can be due to dermatitis skin. You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid deodorant / cosmetics. You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or moisturizing cream applied directly to wet skin after bathing.

If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thank you for your response. I have been using gold bond powder on it after bating which is quite soothing, i have also set up another doctors apointment to get revaluated, just to be sure it is not infectious or worsening. I have also been semi-experimenting with things such as vitamin E oil and A&D cream to see if they help at all, so hopefully they will show some improvement over the next week or so. The calamine lotion also seems like a good idea. Thanks doc!
