Penis rash

Hey- This past week, I noticed a rash on my penis. It doesn't itch or irritate but it is on my penis. It's not on the head, it is on the top of my shaft. A few days ago I went and bought an over the counter spray called fungi cure and began using it twice a day. But the stuff burns like hell when I use it. So far, everything looks to be drying up, but it is still there. There isn't alot of bumps, but there are a few scattered ones. My guess is that the rash appeared after I went swimming once in the past week. Note- I haven't been swimming all summer. Secondly, I am a big guy (6'5)and I sweat alot during the summer. Now, it is suppose to take two weeks for fungi-cure to cure the infection. My question is, should I wait to see, or should I see a doctor? The only that concerns me is that jock-itch occurs on the inner thigh, and this is directly on my penis. I don't sleep around, and I have been with the same girl for two years now. I'm just a little worried because I have never had a problem with my penis.

You are right about fungus being more likely on the inner thigh.  Rashes on the penis are usually irritations or eczema.  The spray probably hurts because of the aerosol, nit the antifungal component.  Why not try over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone twice a day for a week and make an appointment to see a skin doctor in case the rash doesn't go away.

Hello, I need some recommendations for a OTC medication i can apply for a discolored rash on the side of my scrotum it not the same tone as the rest of the skin around it. It itches mildly, I'm not really concerned about the itch but the discolored dry patch is really affecting my sex life, its not a red or a unusual color its like new skin after a scab.

PS Its about a week later, and the flakes are totally gone and you can see the penis is getting a little better its just in certain spots right under the corona of the head of the penis it is still reddish like on the shaft, i was wondering if this will ever go away , etc...please help thanks alot

I have some what a similar problem to most of these posted comments i have discoloration of the skin almost like a bruse on the top middle part of the penis and a red sore on the right head of the penis that just scabs over and peels off leaving the red sore exsposed this is a repeated action that has been going on for sometime i have taken blood tests,tryed creams,and anti-biodix i have no std's or vanerial diseases and the anti-biodix and creams have no effect this is taking a tole on my life is there anything i can do besides worry and drink myself into depression????
