Penis wound/bleeding occurs with erection or Sexual activity

I have an issure that does not seem to go away. It has been about 4 years now i have had this. The right side of my penis bleeds when i encounter in any sexual activity...the more aggressive the experience the more bleeding occurs. It is very painful as you can imagine. It looks like various type cuts/wounds that reopen and never fully heal. It almost seems like it open from the inside out. I have gone to a Dermatologist and unfortunately no success. He prescribed Clotrimazole cream which did nothing but make the skin softer and more sensitive. The odd thing is a day or two later after the sexual activity the skin appears to heal on the outside but only one activity later even after a month of doing nothing, it opens up again in multiple spots and bleeds. Very concerning and painful. I avoid sexual activity now and worried there is no cure. What is this? Is there a cure? Is this something you have heard before and is there a specialist who really understands this?I look forward to your response.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Welcome to the Dermatology Expert Forum!

We are very glad you decided to find solution for your health issue. However, it does require doctors’ (urologist and dermatologist) personal attention. Please, do not postpone it anymore. It is obvious that, for some reason, your penile skin changed four years ago and became progressively more fragile and prone to fissuring and bleeding.

It is important to determine the overall state of penile tissue (scarring, swelling, inflammation, induration, atrophy, presence of functional disorders, etc.) and exclude malignancy. Besides detailed medical history and clinical evaluation biopsy will probably be necessary.

In the meantime, it would probably be best to avoid sexual intercourse (to avoid further skin damage that could interfere with diagnostic process).

Please, feel free to let us know about progress of your diagnostic tests and treatment.

Wishing You Optimal Health,
Dr. Jasmina Jankicevic

Hi Doctor,

I am also having a similar problem for last one year. Sometime back I applied a cream after which the wound was subsided however it has again become prominent and is very painful while making intercourse.

This has started affecting my life. Please advise what should i do to get it cured?

Looking forward for your response.
