Perioral Dermatitis

by DGC1509, Feb 24, 2008 05:07AM
What do you suggest as the most effective treatment for Peri Oral Dermatitis.  My 11 year old daughter has this rash for the 4th time. In the past she has been prescribed a 6 week course of oral Erythmromycin, used Metronidazole cream and Bacitracin.
Will Tea Tree Oil be an effective option for treatment?

Hi,
Peri-oral dermatitis is chronic facial dermatitis, occurring mostly in young women, characterized by small red papules and pustules around the mouth, nose, and eyes.
The treatment should consist of discontinuance of all topical steroid use to the face. You can continue with erythromycin, Metrogyl and Bacitracin.
Bye.
