Persistent jock itch / fungus

Persistent jock itch / fungus

Two years ago I developed jock itch ( I'm a serious cyclist) and it spread from my groin to my testicles and the tp of my penis.  Lotrimin cleared up the groin and testicles in about 10 days,  but the tip of my penis would not clear up & became scaly.  My doctor prescribed Mentax ( butenafine HCI 1 % )  that really improved the appearance and I thought it had cleared up completely, but apparently it never completely got rid of the fungus.  Last year when riding season arrived in February, the fungus came right back in the same spot.  Same thing this year, I start riding in February and within 2 weeks I have the same symptoms on the tip of my penis.   Three usual symptoms: small red bumps that resemble abrasions or chillblains; a patch of skin about the diameter of a BB that will be red and cracked and looks like it's oozing fluid, but in fact is dry to the touch and never does ooze fluid;  or a patch of skin that sort of resembles a blister but is not fluid-filled, but also appears that the tissue directly under the epidermis is blackened.    None of the symptoms are painful.  No lesions / no fluid.  Never spreads beyond the tip of my penis.  Girlfriend hates it, I hate it, and just the fact that it won't go away is driving me crazy.  Plus I am a little concerned about developing a urinary tract infection.
