Piercing Infection?

I recently got my tongue pierced 3 days ago on Friday. It's Monday and I have redness on the tip of my tongue and underneath my tongue. Is my tongue infected and if so what precautions should I take to treat it. Please help me.

Thank you that was very helpful. I took it out based on my gut feeling and the swelling went away and I rinsed my mouth in warm water and sea salt. I also took a acetaminophen so that really helped everything looks normal now. Thanks so much for your help!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This redness can be due to trauma due to the piercing. If there is any warmth, pain, oozing or discharge or any fever then any infection should be suspected. Apply warm compresses and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
