Pimple like bumps around pubic region

by qwertyuiop1431, Oct 09, 2003 12:00AM
Ive read over most of your forums and only found a few posts that sounds like what i have and you said they are most likely pimple but i would like to discribe what they are on me and double check.

Every once in awhile i get these large pimple like bumps around my pubic region, they are never on my penis or on my thighs and only once did one (only one) appear on my scrotum. They are large (bigger then a normal pimple) tender/painful, puss and blood filled. Color wise they dont seem to be getting red or changing color much at all, a little lighter then the surrounding area. They feel smooth to the touch (never been scally or flaky)and bare. They do not always have a "white head" like a pimple. Most of the time they pop like a pimple and go away in a few days. They for the most part happen a few weeks after i shave the area but do pop up randomly. I asume that they are either just pimples or ingrown hairs, but ive never seen an ingrow hair cause this much fuss :) I have not gone to the doctor about them, because or local doctors dont have a good reputation for diagnosing things correctly. Ive been tested for Hiv and hepetitis (hepatitis) C threw a private organization (not localy) and tested negative for both. I hope ive provided enough info.

Thanks

They are probably pimples.  Pimples in the groin take longer to heal than pimples elsewhere, especialy if you pop or shave over them.  It's best to leave them alone.

Having said that, I would add that to be sure you should show one to a doctor, or else you'll never know for certain.  A dermatologist would be capable of telling the right answer.  If the pimples are random, take a picture when you have a nice one and show the doctor when you get there.

Take care.
