Pimple or Herpes?

by wilson22207, Dec 30, 2004 12:00AM
A girl performed unprotected oral sex on me about 12 days ago.  I woke up with a big pimple on the left underside of my penis..about half way from the top.

I popped it and it popped like a pimple with white/yellowish secrecion.  since then it has began to go away like a normal pimple with no pain or irritation.

I went the next day for an STD test and the doc said i shouldn't have popped it and took culture samples and blood tests.  she gave me an oral antibiotic to take for ten days.

the next day i woke up with a swollen and tender left groin gland.

i've read on the internet that having both those symptoms means herpes infection.

i'm wondering if this is herpes since i have the swollen gland.  also, if the gland is swollen from simply an infection for popping the pimple, how come the pimple itself deosn't seem to be irritated or infected.

please help!

Swollen glands can come from bacterial infections as well as from herpes.  You should check with your doctor to see whether the cultures showed anything.  You should also ask the girl you were with whether she ever gets oral cold sores.  Even if she does, it hardly means you got it, but if she doesn't, you certainly have no need to worry.  If it is a bacterial infection--the pimple with pus inside sounds bacterial to me--the antibiotic should take care of it.

Take care.

My inner thigh is very dark and sometimes itchy. The darkness never goes away or reappears-its been the same color for awhile now (6 mos. at least)-No blisters, cold sore, pimples. I work out frequently and my sweaty thighs due rub together alot-any recommendations to reduce the darkness or idea what this might be?
