Pinhead size red raised spot on left palm

by Lisa660, Apr 09, 2009 01:14PM
Yesterday I noticed a very tiny red blood clot like pin head sized spot appear in the palm of my left hand and it itches a bit. What could this be?

Hi,

This could be due to trauma, an irritation, or infection. A blood blister  forms when subdermal tissues and blood vessels are damaged without piercing the skin. It consists of a pool of lymph, blood and other bodily fluids trapped beneath the skin. Common areas that suffer from blood blisters include the hands and feet.  You may apply a cold pack and leave it on its own and it will completely resolve on its own. If it persists, have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper management.

Take care and keep us posted.
