Pink/Red patch on base of penis

hi,

I have a pink/red smooth non itchy patch on the base of my penis (near the pubic area) and I cant seem to get rid of it. Its been there for a least 6 months and I have tried using E45 and moisturizers  but does not seem to have worked.

Please can someone help me?

Thnxz in advance

Hi,

Thank you for your response, it is more appreciated.

At the moment I am currently using canesten which is for fungal infection which I'm not entirely should I have this but giving it a go.

Again the patch is red, non-itchy and does not hurt.  All I'm trying to do is restore the skin color.

If i remember correctly all i did was scratch myself quite vigorously. I scratched myself in two places and one side manage to heal on its own.

Thnxz

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These symptoms can be due to dermatitis skin or irritation skin. Wear cotton clothes and do not irritate the area. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid. But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Symptoms  can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

If the symptoms persist then get eczema or other skin conditions ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
