Pink rash on my trunk

I am a 25 year-old male. Ever winter for the last five to six years, I have a pink rash on my trunk, shoulders, and upper arms. The rash has always been the worst right after a hot shower. The rash resembles hives (small raised spots or blotches). When the rash is not irritated, I have a few small pink spots under my skin. The extreme redness/pinkness disappears in about an hour after the shower. I never really thought anything of it.

This year the rash is worse than its ever been. I have even noticed rash on my parts of my legs, my forearm, and near my ankles. This year I have noticed a few blisters. Now, it almost always itches (at least a little) and when I rub my skin it turns pink. What could this be? Eczema? Psoriasis?

From the symptoms it can be contact dermatitis, eczema or psoriasis. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used , whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid .But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Symptoms  can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin. If the symptoms persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
