Pinkness and stinging in the cheeks?

My cheeks have been getting pink, dark pink, and they've been stinging pretty bad, I haven't started using any new creams or facewashes, I've been using the same facewash I've always used, so I'm sure it's not because of that, but should I be worried or is it just a rash? And is there anything I can do to stop it? I've also refrained from wearing makeup since the rash showed up, so I don't think it's the makeup either. Thanks (:

Hi,

How are you? At this point, it would be best to discontinue any facial wash, moisturizers or make-up. This could be a case or facial dermatitis which usually presents with redness, small red bumps or pus bumps, and mild peeling around the nose, eyes, and cheeks. Sometimes there is mild itching or burning.

Even if treated, the condition may recur several times. The cause of perioral dermatitis is unknown.  Strong corticosteroid creams applied to the face can cause this condition while some types of makeup, moisturizers, and dental products may be partially responsible.  If it persists or other symptoms are present, it would be best to have this evaluated further by a dermatologist for proper management. Antibiotic treatment may be indicated.

Take care and do keep us posted.
