Pityriasis Rosea Transmission?

by file_maker, Aug 13, 2009 09:19PM
Dear MedHelp Doctors,

I was just diagnosed with the skin condition pityriasis rosea. The onset of the condition coincided with my move to a new room in my university dormitory. From online sites, I gather that this condition is far more prevalent in women. My question is, I have been seeing a new man and kissing him(nothing more)--the sites say that the disease is not contagious, but they also indicate that it is a virus, and I would think that viruses are transmitted. Can this condition be communicated through saliva or skin contact (hand to hand or arm to arm)? Thank you.
