Plantar Wart

Plantar Wart

Hello:

I have a question regarding a plantar wart. I went to the doctor and the doctor suggested the liquid nitrogen treatment. The doctor went ahead and froze it. That was about 1 month or 1 month and a half ago. What use to be a tiny dot, now looks like raw skin and the whole has gotten bigger. Does this mean that it is going away??? Or does it mean that it is getting worse and has to be sapped with liquid nitrogen again?  Please let me know. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Plantar warts which are caused by HPV occur through breaks in the surface of the outer layer of skin called the epidermis. From the symptoms it does not signify healing and hence I suggest you to get it re examined from a dermatologist as repeat cryotherapy or other treatment modalities may be required.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
