Plantar's Warts

I am pretty sure I have a plantar's wart on my foot and was wondering how to get rid of it and also how to prevent getting other warts in the future.  thanks

Cori:

Keep in mind that plantar warts, like all warts, come and go as they please, are generally not contagious, and do not have roots.

If your wart is not painful, you needn't do anything but wait it out.  If it is sore, you can get 16% salicylic acid drops and plasers in the drugstore without a prescription.  Use them till the warts don't hurt, then ignore them till they go away.

as for prevention, there isn't any way.  Wearing clogs in showers and gyms is not helpful.

By the way, you may want to find out for sure whether it actually is a wart--sometimes corns (from pressure) look just like warts, but aren't.  Salicylic acid and better-fitting shoes help.

Best.
