Please Help Me!!!

I recently had an abdominoplasty in June.  Since surgery I have noticed a big difference in my skin.  I have begun to break out in big red bumps on my face especially on my forehead, neck, and chin area.  I have always had acne problems and oily skin, but these bumps are huge, red, and really painful.  They don't look like regular pimples.  I have also noticed fine lines appearing on my forehead and one beside my mouth that weren't there before. Under my eyes about a month after surgery swelled.  It has since gone down quite a bit, but not completely and I seem to have dark circles there, like a bruise.  I feel like my skin has made a complete transformation from before surgery to after.  I just want my old skin back.  I have an appointment with a dermatologist on Dec.4th, I couldn't get in any sooner, but I am beginning to become depressed by looking in the mirror every morning.  Do you have any advice for me until I can talk to the Derm?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The symptoms that you are having are not due to abdominoplasty but due to stress associated with it.  Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove and avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. Dark circles under the eyes are temporary and caused due to insomnia, smoking, a family history of dark circles, deficiency of vitamin K in diet or allergies. Take rest adequately and eat healthy nutritious food containing lots of green vegetables. Try to avoid caffeine, because it promotes water retention and leads to the dryness of the eye. You can also apply almond oil or skin creams containing vit C or K,alpha hydroxyl acids and kinetin.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
