Poison Ivy or Scabies

The other day this rash with small little blisters showed up on my hand and I got a few red bumps on face too - does it look like Poison Oak or Ivy to you guys?

In case it was Scabies my wife and I did a full treatment of Nix/Pemethrin and soaked in a Borax/Epsom Salts bath.

I've been applying a prescription of Cortisone to the areas for the past 2 days as well. The spots got worse from the first day to the second but last night they didn't seem to increase at all. We have stripped our bed and quarantined off all the clothes that I wore last week.

From the symptoms it can be due to contact dermatitis, phytophotodermatitis or scabies. Scabies is a contagious skin infection caused by a parasite – the mite, which burrows under the host’s skin and causes intense allergic itching. Although it is unlikely to cause itchy blisters on face but this possibility needs to be ruled out completely.

Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.

So please get these tests done.
