Poorly healed skin on side of mouth between upper and lower lip

A few months ago I had a pimple flare up on the side of my lip between my upper and lower lip.  It has taken months to fully heal as the scab kept breaking and bleeding.  Most of the dried scab has cleared, however the skin is now pink and uneven.  Is there anything I can put on it to speed up the overall healing process? It's made me extremely self conscious.  Please help!

First of all we need to confirm whether it was an infected hair follicles or a cold sore. Cold sore occur due to HSV1. Pain, burning, tingling, or itching occurs at the infection site before the sores appear. Then clusters of blisters erupt which break down. You need to get some investigations like sample from the sores to identify the virus, culture analysis, Tzanck smear, antigen and antibody studies and blood sampling for antibody studies done to confirm the diagnosis. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist.
