I may have been exposed to the HSV virus several weeks ago. I have not had any symptoms of herpes that I know of. After one week I tested negative for all STD's but went back at the one month mark to retest for herpes which also came back negative for HSV 1 and 2. At this point, what are the chances that I may have the virus? Why are blood test not very usefull for diagnosing HSV? I plan on returning in 6-8 weeks for a third test. Using blood tests, when can I be sure that I do not have the virus?
