Possible skin cancer

I have a mole in the center of my adomen that has grown and has a ring around it. The mole has seem to grown darker over the past couple of years. I feel like there is a knot underneath the mole and I have started to get really sharp pains in the area. I know I should go to the doctors but I wanted to know if this can possibly skin cancer.

A dermatologist’s evaluation is definitely desirable. Melanoma has an irregular border, is asymmetrical,uneven color and increasing in size. If you notice changes in the mole's/mark’s color, height, size or shape, you should have a dermatologist evaluate it. You also should have it checked if it bleeds, oozes, itches, appear scaly, or become tender or painful.Otherwise it should be left as such.
