Prednosone or Enbrel

One doctor said that we could take a series of prednosone tablets for a period of time than take a small dose as a maintenance so psoriasis doesn't return. He did say there could be weight gain(how much) and bone loss. My
husband is 70 years old and has severe psoriasis. Help
