Pressure Urticaria and surgery

Hello all, please try to help me with some information, I'm scared. I need to have a three level cervical anterior discectomy and fusion and I suffer from Delayed Pressure Urticaria. The anesthetist has never come across this before and is very concerned that my throat will swell up so that I can't breathe after the surgery.

I've tried searching for information but I can't find anything, so do you know what happens in these cases, I can't be the only person in the world in this situation.

Thank you

Thanks for your reply, it's got to be done through the front of my neck.

i would think they'd give you extra steroids prior to surgery and afterwards. i understand your concern. will they be going in through the throat or neck?
