Prickly Sensation and more!

by earlyryezer, Sep 14, 2009 07:51PM
I have been running for quite sometime, last winter I noticed a rash on the side of my legs. Didn't bother me until the heat came, then it started spreading, under arm, jock itch and athletes foot to boot, no pun intended. I called my doctor after I started getting this prickly sensation all over my body at different times. When I forget about it I can't say that it is even bothering me. But I do notice temperature swings when this occurs. I have gone to my personal doctor and an allergist doctor, both of them seem to think it is nothing to worry about, yeah easier said than done. I do have periods where it goes away for a few days and then for whatever reason it comes back. I have been told it could be a fungus, parasite or candida. I am currently taken some health food product that has killed the acid reflux, foot fungus and jock itch (Ring Worm). This past Sunday the symptoms came back and I checked myself this afternoon and the rash is back, it is slight but is back. I don't know what to do, do you have any suggestions or solutions? Can it be a fungus that is not being killed off by the body?

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be fungal infections, sweat dermatitis, heat rash or eczema. Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Also use cotton clothes and change the clothes twice if there is any increased sweating. Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. For the itching antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin can be taken. If the symptoms persist then please consult a dermatologist and get a skin biopsy done to confirm the diagnosis.

I hope that helps. Take care and Kind regards.
