Psoriasis AND Hidradenitis Suppurativa

by Bethypoo, Apr 11, 2009 09:15PM
Hi.
I suffer from both moderate to severe Psoriasis (for roughly 20 years now) and Hidradenitis Suppurativa (around 11 years).  My Psoriasis is on my elbows, backs of my hands, knees, calves, scalp, and trunk.  It is much more concentrated on my right side of my body.  My Hidradenitis occurs under my right arm, on my right leg in the groin, and more recently on my back end in between my cheeks. It comes and goes, but has been bad enough that i have had three surgerys to remove very large clumps of multiple cysts.  My questions are, is there any correlation between the Psoriasis and Hidradenitis, or am i that unlucky in the gene pool; and do you have any clue as to why everything is worse on the right side as opposed to the left side?
I think it is just too weird that everything is so much worse on the right side of my body, and that the Hidradenitis dosn't even occur on the left side of my body...it is almost like i have a line cutting my body into two parts!  I don't see a dermatologist for either condition even though i know that i should, and i see a general surgeon (who i wholly trust) for the Hidradenitis.  Any input would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance for your time!
