Psoriasis

I've had psoriasis for years...now I am pregnant and I stopped taking all meds beforehand. I was able to control most of the itching with Eucerin lotion. Now that is not doing the trick anymore. Any other suggestions on how to get rid of the itching and scaling in a more natural way - trying to avoid meds while pregnant. Thanks!

Hello,
In pregnancy we need to be very careful about the medications that are used for treatment of psoriasis. Adalimumab is safe during pregnancy but Soriatane is not safe for the fetus. However Ultraviolet light wavelength B (UVB) therapy is an extremely effective psoriasis treatment which is safe during pregnancy. You need to discuss it in detail with your treating dermatologist and decide which one is the best for you.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
