Pubic hair removal

Dear Doctor,
I have a question regarding the safety of pubic hair removal.
I would like to be completely hairless in that area, however the varieties offered by beauty salons no matter how professional they are, I would like to hear from a medical point of view.
q.1) If I were to shave as a start and then after a day or two apply an anesthetic and run an epilator, on all the parts that a Brazilian wax would include, how safe is that form a gynecologist or dermatologist perception. Also what anesthetic is recommended for use in such a case?
q.2) Furthermore, I heard that repetitively plucking the hairs in the pubic region whether by the use of epilators or wax, is likely to damage the nerves in that area resulting in weakening and reducing the sexual drive and sensations in that area. How valid is that claim from your knowledge and expertise, provided that many sexually active women actually proceed with Brazilian time and again? Additionally, would the use of an anesthetic as it prevents the pain feeling would prevent the nerve damage and potential consequences,(can you indicate any which are likely to be the result of shaving, using an anesthetic and then epilating with a Braun Machine?).
