Question About A Mole - Could This Be Melanoma?

I have a mole on my chest that is pretty small. It is tan in color, but recently I saw what looks like a little darker brown in the center. I'm always paranoid of skin cancer, so at the first sight of something I am getting scared.

Would it be normal to see a new color there? I was just at the dermatologists a couple weeks ago, and she said everything was fine, but I don't know if the darker spot was there then or not.

Any opinions would be appreciated!

Moles can change colour with pregnancy and your period or if it has been irritated. Probably for other reasons too. It wouldn't hurt to wait another week but if you're losing sleep over it you should book in again.

Let me know how it goes.

It's not a completely round mole, but none of the ones on my chest are. I'm not sure what 6mm looks like, but this isn't big at all. It looks like there is white near one of the edges, but that may just be my skin. I don't know.

The dark brown dot is new, I think. I didn't notice it when she was doing the exam.

I just finished my period (sorry if that's TMI), so I don't think it could be that.

Should I make another appointment, or could it be normal that parts of a mole could change color?

How big is it? If under 6mm it sounds ok. Does it have ragged or regular borders.

2 weeks ago you saw a dermatologist so I'm sure she would have picked it up if it was a problem.

Some moles change colour monthly (if you're a woman) I find, if you know what I mean. they get darker close to your period then fade back afterwards.

Good luck.
